We are grateful for this,

last night the Captain made it back to the states and got to see his brother in the ICU for the first time the Fighter is doing well

especially considering all that he has been through

he broke all the bones in his face and has his second surgery sometime next week he cannot yet speak

but has been writing messages on a board

some make me cry others make me laugh

the Fighter has not lost his sense of humor

we are overwhelmed with gratitude

Fern's Birthday 2012

My Birthday cake is called a Spring Checker Cake and this is what it looks like inside! I had a great day, my best friend who is also my husband, took me out for breakfast and then to the new City Creek Center Mall in downtown Salt Lake City Utah. We ended the day at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. I would like to thank everyone for everything and most of all just remembering me!

I got this Birthday Cake from my friend Gale Roberts, we have been friends for about 43 years. She sent this cake from Brooklyn New York, it is a Black Hound New York Cake. this is my 70th. Birthday Cake , Thank you Gale! I love it!

Devin tested for Blending Specialist.

This is our son Devin and mate Louise. They live in Austin, TX. He has worked at Hospira Medical Manufacturing for a number of years. They are only one of two companies that manufacture IV's in the US. About six months ago he was chosen to train in a new position called Blending Specialist. This position mixes the powder drugs used in IV bag solutions. They are also responsible for the mixing of the powder and liquid chemicals, used to make plastic for the IV bag and also hazardous waste disposal. Certifying in this position normally takes over a year. Devin was able to train and certify in six month. To certify required a six hour test with over 410 questions. Devin only missed one question on the entire test. He was also chosen as one of three top performers out of 300 employees in the plant to receive a higher than normal raise. Congratulations Devin, we are proud of you.
