SIX MONTHS!!!!
Wow it has been six months today since my car accident. It has really
gone by fast looking back, but if I think about everything that
happened. All the long sleepless nights, trying to eat with my mouth
wired shut and breathing through that trech. etc. it took a long time to
get here today. But today I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I have been
so blessed to have survived and all the MIRACLES that took place that
day. I have no doubt I had a few guardian angels looking after me. I am
so grateful to all the people who prayed for me and who came and saw me.
I am so grateful for my family, I love them all so much. My wife Karrie
has been so strong and I just fed off of her strength and energy when I
had very little. She has really been amazing and I would not wish this
experience that she had to go through on anyone. My kids have been
awesome. My first thoughts when I woke up in my car were of my family
and I knew I had to keep fighting for them. They really stepped up each
one in there own way. My son Micah just stepped in for me. Talk about
growing up fast. I will blog more about my family later. I love you
guys. I am so grateful for my parents who were and are there/here for
me. My awesome siblings who I love so much. My Bro. in-law Robert who
was one of the first people to the hospital and who also became one of
my regular sitters after I was released and was home but could not be
left alone. My nieces and nephews. I love you all. There is no way to
thank everyone this blog would need pages and pages. I will have to blog
more about that later. But just a few more or I would feel bad. The
doctors and nurses at Mckay-Dee hospital who took such good care of me
for the two weeks I was there. Especially the nurses they have
such a hard job. I could really tell which ones really cared about me.
They really do all the heavy lifting. There were so many good ones, but I
wanted to thank Jesee one of my favorite nurses for all she did. Jesee
and Karrie took me on a couple of strolls outside around the pond and it
felt so good to get out and get that fresh air. I felt so bad they both
had to push me around in the wheelchair dragging my oxygen tank. So a
great big thanks! Dr. Liston was amazing and his staff is great. Also
to all my sitters that came to my house and took care of me while Karrie
worked. These great friends and family gave up there whole day to come
sit with me and do stuff like change my i.v., feed me, make sure I kept
breathing etc. So thank you Kristy, Anita, Heidi, Robert, my parents. My
family at Costco I work with some of the best people on this planet. I
love you guys/gals. Also I have to mention just a couple more. Darrin
Staples thank you so much for the visits and the book and smoothie cards
I really means a lot to me and really helped boost my spirits. And
Dusty thank you for sneaking into ICU to check on me. Brad Lloyd thank
you for taking the time to visit when you really did not have to. I will
never forget waking up and seeing a big smile on your face. Ok this is
probably going to have to be 2 post. To my ward for all the prayers and
food. We had so much food it was crazy and I could not eat any of it. I
am so Grateful today to so many people but especially to my Heavenly
Father to still be here today. Wow this is long but could be so much
longer. I AM SO BLESSED AND GRATEFUL TODAY!!!!!
